Marine Laboratory

This project was created with the objective of building a marine research laboratory for a university. It takes into consideration a terrain that is 7 feet below the base flood elevation and an existing historical boathouse that is to be renovated and incorporated into the design. above is a site plan that shows the new building sitting above the water, with a boardwalk below connecting up to the entrances and to the renovated existing structure. Space is provided for over 100 students and faculty to park, with room to expand as future additions to the campus increase demand. Tree placement next to the parking lot serve to obscure the view to the Borne mansion, which helps establish this space as it's own event.
